Route 11 & 15 Overpass
Burnco Mfg will be involved in the steel fabrication for a bridge linking new Route 11 with Route 15, supplying fabricated steel in excess of 700 Tonnes by truck and rail. Completed girders are in excess of 185 meters long.
This project for the Province of New Brunswick is part of the Route 11 realignment, estimated at $500 million. The bridge allowance is in excess of $48 million.
Since the early 1990s planning studies have been undertaken to review the transportation corridor in Durham Region. The conclusion: a new east-west transit corridor was needed. Recommendations outlined that a new corridor extend to Highway 35/115 adjoining the existing Highway 407.
Additional north-south links to Highway 401 were also recommended.
